After the Ban: Teaching Children to Use Phones Responsibly

This is the best version of an argument I've been working on from the other side, and you've put the developmental case better than I have. The line I'd add sits underneath yours: your car analogy needs an empty parking lot — a place safe enough to start in before the open road — and for the phone, that place doesn't exist yet. The Off Switch teaches the child to switch off; but when they switch on, it's still to the whole unfiltered internet, judgement or no judgement. Rehearsing restraint and building a safer place to rehearse it in are the same instinct from two directions. Genuinely good piece — "prepared, not merely delayed" is exactly right.
