What this policy covers

The Off Switch app (consumer features). The app works on-device using Apple’s Screen Time frameworks to apply the choices you set. We do not create accounts for core features and do not receive your on-device settings.

The Off Switch website and shop. Our site runs on Wix. Like most e-commerce sites, essential cookies, checkout, payments, and delivery use third-party services (e.g., Wix and payment providers). We describe those below.

What the app stores and where

Your quiet/allow lists and related settings are saved locally on your device. We don’t upload these to our servers.
Permissions the app uses

Screen Time (Family Controls/Managed Settings): to apply the restrictions you chose.

NFC: to read your Off Switch card when you tap.

Notifications (optional): to send our own app notifications (we don’t control other apps’ notifications directly).
What we don’t collect from the app
We don’t collect your personal identifiers, location, browsing history, contact list, or your full list of installed apps; Screen Time operations happen on your device under your control.

When you browse, place an order, or contact us, we process some personal data.

How long we keep it
We retain order information as needed to deliver your purchase and fulfill legal obligations (e.g., tax/records), then delete or anonymise it. The ICO expects privacy notices to explain retention at a high level.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies. Essential cookies are necessary for the site and cart to function; non-essential cookies (e.g., analytics) are optional and only run with your consent, as indicated in a banner when used. Wix documents cookie use and provides consent tooling.
You can change or withdraw cookie consent at any time through the banner/settings link on our site. The ICO’s PECR guidance requires clear and comprehensive cookie information, along with consent for non-essential cookies.
Your rights
Subject to limits in law, you can ask us to: access, correct, erase, or restrict your personal data; object to certain uses; and receive a copy of your data in portable form where applicable. You can also complain to the ICO; their contact details can be found on their website.
For app-only data stored on your device, you can reset settings in the app or delete the app to remove local data.
Children
Our service is not directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from children. If we rely on consent to offer an online service directly to children in the UK, only those aged 13 or over can consent for themselves; those under 13 require parental consent.

If we make changes that significantly impact your privacy, we’ll update this page and, where applicable, notify you in the app or by email.
